Ruy is a well-known authority on the subject of Sustainable Development, particularly in the areas of Energy Transition and Global Change, with a focus on Climate Change.
Ruy has worked for J.D. Edwards, Computer Associates, Shristi Corp., India Power Corp., SunEdison, Quantum Group, and Solarcentury in the private sector, primarily in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Ruy has overseen massive initiatives in this industry that focus on sustainable practices, such as renewable energy, eco-mining, and regenerative agriculture.
Since 2009, Ruy has served with Green Cross, a non-governmental organisation focused on environmental and social sustainability that was created by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mikhail Gorbachev in 1993. Ruy has been tasked by the Founding President with leading the Green Cross chapter in the United Kingdom.
Ruy was awarded one of the "30 sustainable thinkers of Latin America" by Forbes magazine (MEX) in 2021 for developing the Climate Positive framework with projects worth more than GBP 1000 MM.
Ruy is a System Engineer and a Naval Officer (RN) from Argentina who is pursuing his Doctorate in Environmental Projects. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and is a System Engineer.

After moving on to become Head of Innovation for Barclays, he introduced a large Pre-Paid Card programme. In 2006, Jof bought Shopcreator (a leading e-commerce platform), transformed it into a SaaS company, and sold it again. In 2010, he both founded and later successfully sold the Shilling Group, a boutique M&A advisory and small business lender. In 2015 was recruited as Programme Director by Russian Foreign Trade Bank (VTB) to build a UK retail bank. Jof founded Million Labs with Simon in 2018, he is a director of Silicon Canal and Co-Chair of the central region Fintech cluster.
